Our Front Porch Needs Some Umph!
I was checking out the front porch today, trying to decide how to style it for the fall and realized I’d really like to paint the sidelights of the front door. This is how it looks at the moment…
It’s not bad, but it doesn’t POP! The front door is the same color as the shudders, but the screen makes it look much darker. I’m thinking I’ll paint the interiors of the sidelight panels and leave the trim. I’m wondering if it would be too bold to paint the columns, and if so, what color? I’d really like to warm it up some, but dont want it to look overdone and obnoxious. I’d love opinions. I want to tackle this project soon! Thanks a bunch!
A white railing would give it the oomph you’re looking for. You’re blessed to have this house!
Have you thought about black? I always think it brings a classy look!
We tested it out on an editting program we have and black looked AWESOME! I’m just a little nuts about having stuff match. I feel like we could have black shudders and a red door, but not a black door and red shudders. Stupid, right??
I say a deep navy for the columns.
